Rocky Mountain High – An Evening of John Denver

On March 29th-31st, 2018 Geek SOS Productions presented Rocky Mountain High – An Evening of John Denver for two performances at the Kelowna Community Theater and one performance at The Vernon Community Arts Centre. Conducting guest The Okanagan Symphony was John Denver’s original conductor/arranger Lee Holdridge. Vocals were sung by recording artist Rick Worrall; along with guest artists Mia Harris (Soprano), Steve Worrall (Recording Artist), Delphine Litke (Singer/Actress) and Justin Moore.   This represented the debut of this fantastic production and due to it’s overwhelming success, Geek SOS productions is now working with symphonies and theatres across Canada to present this memorable concert.

Rocky Mountain High is a celebration of John Denver’s Music.  Unlike most tribute acts, no one dresses up like John, there was only one John Denver.  The focus is on the music and presenting it to true to the original arrangements as first orchestrated by Mr. Holdridge.  It is an honour to have Lee play such an integral roll in this production.

As well as John Denver, Lee Holdridge has penned countless scores for both TV shows and motion pictures, and has either written, arranged, or conducted for numerous other respected pop artists, including Barbra Streisand, Brian May of Queen, Stevie Wonder, Al Jarreau, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Natalie Cole, and opera tenor Placido Domingo.   He has won seven Emmy’s and two Grammy’s.   Having Lee Holdridge conduct the OSO here in the Okanagan is more than just a special treat, it promises to be a very memorable occasion that will be talked about for years to come.
